Art is meant to blow people’s mind, and Patrick Ennis does just that. His paintings take you to a far out place. With over 3000 paintings, his collection ranges from portraits and still life, to surrealism and most recently, psychedelic. His latest creations are themed around the calmness and solitude found from floating in space.
“Space is a reoccurring theme, It’s like the biggest thing in the universe. One of my favourite illusions to create is people in outer space,” he said.
Patrick is not your regular artist. He does the classic paintings on canvas, but he also has his own line of clothing, and participates in live painting shows as well. He is also a two time Art Battle Edmonton Champion (2012 and 2017).
Patrick resembles a psychedelic Bob Ross. He hosts live paint videos on his Facebook @patrickennisarts, where he creates original works of art and plays a variety of electronic dance music. He participates in art shows and painting expos across Canada.
His most recent success has been with having his work featured at the Astral Harvest Music Festival during the past few summers. Just this month he did a live painting show to the music of DJs Nineca and JoyOne Sound System at the WakahChan Fall Gathering. He also works alongside YEGexposed, an Edmonton based company that helps local artists get exposure and host their work in galleries, by participating in events around the city.
Wearable art is his next big conquest. Patrick started his own line of cosmic print clothing featuring some of his most out-of-thisworld designs.
